Guest guest
In South India, where he is better known as Murugan, Skanda has two wives, Valli and Devasena. In Northern India, Skanda is a batchelor and distains the company of women. In South India, Ganesha (who is usually called Pillayar) the the batchelor -- he likes to entertain the Goddesses, but is "safe" because of his vows of brahmacharya. At the Hindu Temple of Flushing (South Indian style) they see Ganesha as a "Momma's boy" and an honorary Shakti. North India is where Ganesha has his wives (usually named Buddhi and Siddhi). Sometimes he is shown in very erotic Tantric postures. -- Len/ Kalipadma On Fri, 19 Nov 2004 23:23:34 -0000 "jessica_malone1000" <jessica_malone1000 writes: > > > > Ganesha has two wives, Sidhi and Budhi, am i right??. > > Skanda is very important diety in tantric sadhana, esp the Skanda > purana describes the Utbava of Skanda from the five elements etc. > > Does anyone know the names od the wives of Skanda? > ______________ Juno Platinum $9.95.
