Guest guest
Dear Len/Kalipadma: Yes, I heard the same story..I also heard that Neem Karoli Baba actually "palmed" the LSD and did not take it at all, he let Dr Alpert THINK he did! And I also agree that while a little is good, more is not necessarily better! Also, the set and setting, as repeatedly emphasized by Timothy Leary, is crucial for obtaining maximum benefit. Surrounding yourself with a safe uplifting environment and supportive people will get you farther, naturally, than a noisy drunken orgy in a dubious environment. You wouldn't perform brain surgery in a stable, would you? Then why expand one's awareness in a sinkhole of human iniquity and baseness? Maybe if the 60's LSD experience had been conducted with a bit more respect and reverence for what they were doing, things might have been different! Ram Dass (Richard Alpert) and Timothy Leary showed the possibilities of a different kind of experience. I consider myself fortunate that I was able to come to the whole scene in my later years, backed up by life experience and people I could trust, and that I had the capacity to recognize the possibilities and the occult knowledge to make a full use of them. I must say, I had the most remarkable experience for my second LSD trip..I decided I would take it on Maha Shiva Ratri, the Great Night of Shiva, when Shiva is said to visit in person His devotees that stay up all night to await him. I got the idea to do so, and prayed for confirmation that it was the right approach to take..did I get confirmation or WHAT!!! I will tell you all about it in a post later on tonight..
