Guest guest
In 1999, I got in the habit of keeping the Lalitasahasranama close by my bed, and reading from it after my meditation until I fell asleep. In the summer of 2000 I went to Starwood Festival. This was the month of 3 eclipses, and the lunar one had just passed.. I will never forget the spectacular moonrise the night we arrived..there were all kinds of deity-forms in the clouds, including a Shiva Lingam, and the moon was so bright it was coming through the clouds in rays like a searchlight, edging them with brilliance. Well, the next day I met, purely by chance, a grandson of Aleister Crowley (from his last Scarlet Woman), who was also a tulku (a reincarnated Tibetan lama) of the Drukpa (Red Hat)tradition. He told me many remarkable stories, including how he met the Rinpoche that "recognized" him, this was, apparently, his ninth incarnation as a lama. He was quite a singular man; it was easy to get an idea of the compelling personality of his grandfather!! The next day, quite out of the blue, he gave me an initiation into Red Tara, also known as "Kurukulla", Lady of the Iron Hook. When I got back home, I picked up my Lalitasahasranama as usual, opened it at random, and there it was: "She who is Kurukulla"!
