Can you tell on what basis K.N.Rao-ji said that you ista belongs to

the Siva family? I raised this question at his forum but did not get

any reply.

 

If you look at planetary strenghts as the basis for deciding who the

ista is, there is a lot of contradiction (esp. BPHS vs. what is

generally followed in South India).

I believe Rao looked to the fifth House for insights to the Ishtadevata.
