Guest guest
The Ganesha Temple here in Flushing, New York, does the following Pujas on these days... Sunday -- Ganesha, Krishna, Durga Monday -- Shiva Tuesday -- Hanuman, Skanda, Kamakshi Wednesday -- Saraswati Thursday -- Guru Paduka puja Friday -- Parvati, Lakshmi Saturday -- Vishnu, Rama, Navagraha The schedule wasn't always set up like this. The Planetary Puja (Navagraha) originally was held on Sunday (Sun is the ruler of the planets), but since Saturn is the graha most people want to appease, it was moved to Saturday. Saraswati's puja was originally held on Thursday (she is the Guru), but moved to Wednesday because most offerings are for help with scholastic studies (Mercury). I feel Rama is more appropriate to Sunday, Krishna to Saturday, but they changed them. Mariamman likes offerings on Fridays (a general Goddess day). The Temple doesn't have a regularly scheduled Kali Puja, but she's usually worshipped on Saturdays or Tuesdays. Traditions vary from place to place, and from temple to temple. -- Len/ Kalipadma kesava Prasaad <keshavaprasadkh wrote: Namaste, I heard there are particular gods for weekdays. like Shiva for Monday, Lakshmi for Friday,.....what about the rest of the days?
