Meaning:

Those who live in this earth, even if they had erred

(in the past), if they come and surrender, the

magnanimous mercy of Forehead-eyed God would take

(them) in. - To indicate the same, the thoughtless

powerful demon (rAvaNa) lifting (kailash), breaking

down and then singing (It) and consequently the

Supreme blessing him - that gift he (sambandhar)

blessed (sang).

 

Notes:

1. cEkkizAr gives principle of the 8th song in

sambandhar padhikams where the rAvaNa lifting kailsha,

getting squeezed under that mount as Lord shiva puts

down a little a finger in the leg and subsequently

getting blessed by God when pleaded for mercy singing

God.

2. The souls in the states of influence under bondage

(pAcam) as well as when holding to both God and

bondage

are likely to err. If God acts just tough and rejects

the erring souls then hardly any would be able to get

to reach God. At the same time if God overlooks all

the misdeeds, the soul would not get corrected and it

would not hold properly to God and again leading to

fall short of Bliss. God provides opportunities for

the soul to correct itself and when it does and

reaches out to God, God gives it the great prosperity.

3. The nAyanmArs themselves are the examples of this.

kUnpANdiyan who hobnobbed with the intolerants to

torch alive sambandhar and all the accompanying

devotees, became highly respectable ninRacIr neDumARa
