Meaning:

"oh reverend ! Why do you break this yAz ? Will all

the glory of the holy grace that Lord of

red-matted-hair along with the Governing-lady gave,

get confined to this instrument that we got with our

wisdom ?! It would be appropriate to play within the

bounds of this instrument, to the sense of the world,

to our essential quality.", he said.

 

Notes:

1. As sambandhar sang "mAthar maDappiDiyum" at

tharumapuram, thirunIlakaNTa yAzppANar could not play

it in his yAz. That great musician devotee felt his

service has flawed and went to destory his yAz.

Stopping him, sambandhar said this.

"God's grace is so immense that no instrument in the

world can play it in completeness."

2. This is true not just for that yAz that yAzppANar

had, but to all instruments including the bodies we

dwell in. Given that the instruments we have are

constrained by limitations, one should not stop

frustrated. Rather with whatever available one needs

to utilize them to the best of the purpose and using

those flawed instruments try to reach the Flawless

Supreme.
