Guest guest
visukra prAna harana vArAhi viryananditA : Rejoicing in the strength of VarAhi, the taker of the life of Visukra. VarAhi , a goddess, by name Dandini. The TripurAsiddhAnta explains the word vArAhi as follows "Because Devi, the supreme, appeared to VarAhAnandanAtha [ one of the gurus who was devoted to Devi], and because she has the face of a boar, she is called VarAhi" The sons of Bhanda are the stains called Anava, and others mala [impurities]; visaNga : vi opposed to ; sanga, attachments or the craving for worldly objects. Or visa, poison; ga, to go, ie perceiving sensous objects with a poison view. Hence, KsemarAja, commenting on the Siva-Sutra [iII, 30 : yovisastho JNAnasaktihetus ca] explains that the word avisa refers to Mahesvari, and other energies that are opposed to visa ie poison, evil. Visukra : Vi opposed to; sukra, tejas or light, ie the embodied soul. Or vi more, suk pain; ra receeived, ie samsAra. BalA, Mantrini and VarAhi represent certain internal modifications, when these destroy the opposed tendencies [ indicated in the names msg 14093 and msg 14102] his own divine Self becomes pleased.
