ManipUra-cakra is in the navel and there is a ten-petalled lotus, in that, while engaged in the act of samaya worship, Devi is decked [pUra] with gems [mani]. Hence this cakra is called ManipUra. Appearing, by removing the knot [brahmagranthi] which is below this cakra. BhAskararAya's Commentary Translated into English by R. Ananthakrishna Sastry.
