Guest guest
Om Kali Varunaji, The japa mantra are of important for those in bhaakti or tantric marga (path). Your japa must evolve from your ishta devata (choosen ideal). Which you have done very well here . Now as for Ma there are various mantras for japa sadhana. That is why it is important for you to know the meaning of the mantras in order to choose those that fits your tempremant( bhava ) ideally. Usually the bija (seed) mantras are given by a proper spritual adept because the seed (KREEM) has its inner meaning which make impression in your mind that taken together with the pranava (OM) and the choosen form(KALI) will manifest the Ideal within you. That is why this headache is usually left to Guru as he knows the spritual aspirant tempremant well and what would be his ideal mantra. Then again for some requires the use of Kali Gayatri and Samput as well.If your are a tantra or yantra sadhaka (spritual aspirant) than this become very important but if your are in bhaktic aspirant than Varunaji could choose the mantra without bija (seed) first learn the inner meaning of the mantra than attached bija to it.. Bhagwan Ramakrishna use to recite Om Kali even after his realisation and this is what I used when I first started to learn the proper tradition worshippping Ma as well. If Varunaji wish so I could share the meaning of each sylabble in the japa mantra that could be used or are availabe for Ma Kali. Do you have the Devanigri meaning of the mantra that you have mentioned earlier .. If you have you could share it with the group . If you need any asiistance we could do it together for our group here. Below were the mantras ; 1) om 2) Maha Kali 3) Kali 4) Kreem 5)Ma 6) Sri 7) Kalikayai Jai Kali !! >"ruchirananda" >Kali_Ma >Kali_Ma >Subject: Japa >Wed, 04 Sep 2002 17:40:15 -0000 > >Om Namah Shivaya! > >I am wondering which mantra does Kali servants uses for japa? I >already know "Om Sri Maha Kalikayai Namah", "Om Kali Ma" and "Om >Kreem Kalikayai Namah". >Any others? Guest guest
Hi, the important thing is to have a focus, a concentration when doing japa. You should not have thoughts also in your mind such as "my rhythm is wrong" or "I don't seem to be coordinating this with my breath." Conciousness blooms in contact with sensory objects, and mental productions are just the same as other sensory objects like sights or sounds. With japa, you are trying to purify your conciousness by making the sole content of your mind the japa itself. What will happen is that as you pay close attention to your own japa going on, you will notice something. You have to do this with a lot of attention, like a cat at a mousehole! What you will notice is that your mind/conciousness actually comes into being because of what is perceived. There is no such thing as just "conciousness," instead, there is only "conciousness-of." What you will suddenly know for yourself is that not only is the ego an illusion, just as all the scriptures states, but that you are part and parcel of the universe... you have never separated from your Mother! You still dwell with her always... Japa, prayer, meditation... this is all to "un-forget" this fact. Hope this helps! How correctly to hold are rosary? I recite Mantra (rosary 1x108) Om Hriim Dum Durgaye Namah (at morning) and Sri Lalita Trishati Stotra (at evening). Is this correct? Thanks Jai Ma! It depends on what your Guru told you.
Guest guest
93, Greetings; , "r_odintsov" <PsA-Fomalhaut@y.. > Please give me more information about Japa. > What Mantra is reciting? > How much (rounds) is reciting? > How correctly to hold are rosary? These are supposed to be explained by guru. Without diksha generally commonly known mahamantras are suggested - like "Hare Rama" or Shiva-panchakshari. Basic number of recitations is 108. > I recite Mantra (rosary 1x108) Om Hriim Dum Durgaye Namah (at > morning) and Sri Lalita Trishati Stotra (at evening). Is this correct? Firstly, correct is "OM hrIM duM durgAyai namaH" and not "durgaye". Secondly, as i was told by my deshika in SV, Trishati is used ONLY by initiates. IMO, better chant Sahasranama of some stotra. BTW, Odintsov must be from Russia or Ukraine? I'm from there as well : ). Regards, A.
