Congradulations Nora on your excellent use of English! Wow, that still suprises me when people whose native tounge is not English can use our slang so well! In Tarapith I spent a lot of time with the "bullshit" Tantriks. I even drank alcohol with them, BUT I did manage to get a lot of DAT recordings of Bengali folk songs, so it was a type of trade. I paid for the booze, but I got the songs and everyone was nice to me otherwise! I watched men dressed like monks drinking at 10 in the morning.....I don't think they are the realized ones! But then I got to spend time meditating over a fire with some Shiva Bhaktas and watched them while I was there. They did not eat for 10 days! The Guru was nice enough to tell me proper pronunciation of a Shakti mantra and showed me how to hold the rudraksha while doing it! I hoppe I run into more of those types of people next time. Perhaps it comes down to whether or not they want to get paid for what they are doing. That's a good sign right there. The Shiva Sadhus we're sober the whole time and bought me Chai, the fake Boka Tantriks.....they asked for liquor money. I think the Shivas we're a little closer to realizing something. But again, I am just being me. I see it is a waste in trying justify between the realized and the unrealized one. To me its ridiculous. If somebody thinks he/she is a realised one. So be it. Weather I agree or not, my personal opinion is a private matter. As I have said before, there are many here [ members ] whom I have meet personally and communicate via the chat. Some I believe are indeed realise but they do not advertise themselves. Even the idea of saying "you are indeed a realised one" embaress them let alone all those praises. One told me, if you try to put me on the pedestral, I will run away, or disappear. Eventually it goes back to us. Who do you think you want to follow or listen. DEVI have given us the brain to think and rationalise ourselves. This message board as I see it, is like a practical session. You encounter all sort of people, so you use your own sense of judgement to see who is bullshitting and who is being the real. Like the Swan : the ability to separate the milk and the water. If you think this person is talking nonsense, then please ignore it. Do not response. Don't get yourself trap. You do not have to read everything that is being posted here. Different people have different ways of expressing their pain. We are glad that somehow some people have found our group and willing to express their pain here. We shall listen and accomodate them as long as they are not nasty to another member, then all of us shall benefit. That is what I called this whole concept of Openess lilith. To be open to another means to accept them as they are. Another term, being holistic in our approach
Guest guest
Well, as I have said only about 2000 times before, you may want to take a look at the "Aghora" series to see what I mean about the "God-realized" not necessarily living up to some preconceived image of an "enlightened"person. It sure opened MY eyes...The Master Vimalananda drank frequently, frequented the race track, made no bones about his sex life (even inventing details) to drive away the phony seekers who always run after the spiritually advanced to beg favours. He also frequented cremation grounds and did rituals on funeral pyres. None of this stopped him from being a tremendously God-connected person who I immediately recognized as a true spiritual master from the details given by Dr. Robert Svoboda. In fact I am GREEN with envy that Dr. Svoboda was so lucky to have met him in the flesh, and eternally grateful that he wrote those books so that I too could share in the wealth! Being a "nice" person to your fellow man is, as I have said before, not necessarily an indication of how in touch with the Divine anyone is. In fact, they have very little to do with each other at all. A person can be very connected to God, and be completely antisocial to their fellow human beings in every way. It is a purely individual matter of temperament.
