Guest guest
Pranam. A poem... pls enjoy and comment. Thank you. With Love Shankaree O’ Mother, O’ patient one Who bears us without complain Stable in a chaotic universe Decked with gems Stones of various hue, Gems that we covet We prise them out of you With nary a thanks You take no offense You give again and again In a love so vast That we may never understand We hurt you and Degrade you and Devour you Never thinking of our brethren Always selfish, we are Always it is our needs and wants Our comforts that are paramount What care we if you suffer silently? O’ Mother mine. O’ patient one. Is there any who can equal You? Bless us that we may Treat you with the respect You deserve. Shankaree Ramatas 20/02/05 Let my every word be a prayer to Thee, Every movement of my hands a ritual gesture to Thee, Every step I take a circumambulation of Thy image, Every morsel I eat a rite of sacrifice to Thee, Every time I lay down a prostration at Thy feet; Every act of personal pleasure and all else that I do, Let it all be a form of worshiping Thee." >From Verse 27 of Shri Aadi Shankara's Saundaryalahari ALL-NEW Messenger - all new features - even more fun! Guest guest
Dear Shankaree: This is Your own poem? It is most beautiful and evocative! Thank you for sharing it; I only just noticed Your post while looking for something in the archives. There is much wisdom in your words. They force us to realize some of the myriad implications involved in serving Devi, beyond theory, beyond scripture, beond the confines of the puja room. If even a tenth of humankind were to understand these implications and strive to honor the Earth and Universe as Devi Herself (for what else are they?), so many of the problems now wracking the world would simply disappear. Thank you once again ;-) DB , shankaree ramatas <shankaree> wrote: > Pranam.
