Acute : Conditions [ either severe or non severe] lasted for short period of time but consistent. Usually suddenly and spontanous. So chronic conditions do not arises overnight, dont you agree? Guest guest
The way to refute a scholarly work(on history) is fact to fact and logic to logic. Uninformed ad hoc remarks barely count. http://infinityfoundation.com/projects.shtml http://voiceofdharma.org/books/ http://voiceofdharma.org/authors/ Thanks. Guest guest
I fully agree that the brahmins, as a class, has been unnecessarily maligned. I fully agree with whats stated in the link. These "schowlers" have an agenda and they try to do the brain washing at the right age and right place with the necessary political support. It is true individual brahmins at all times have tried to misinterpret the texts to suit their political/social agenda. It goes on even now. Despite clear evidence to the contrary and such declarations as The "Paliam Proclamation" (by the most euredite scholors) {decreeing that the status of brahmin is not just a birth right but can also be aquired} still a few hold the view that it is an exclusivist birthright. There was some logic in that in the old times when the families lived together and practiced rites so that children grew up imbuibing the culture. In the present day of modern nuclear families this does not happen and the claim of exclusivist birth right is fading. In fact the Supreme Court of India had laid down the law in Rajesh Versus Travancore devaswom Board that there is no "birth right" so legally also this is ntrue. but for this, the rest of teh attacks on Brahminism is wrong.
