BhavanAsini : Destroying samsAra

 

The Saktirahasya says, "In the ninth day of the lunar month, according

to the rule, as to him who anoints CandikA with Ghee, hear the result

of that action; he is raised out of the ocean of samsAra and shines in

the DurgAloka, together with the preceding ten and also succesing ten

generations." The Kurma and Devi BhAg. Prs. speak to the same effect.

 

OR according to the BrhajjAbAla Up [ no 26] bhavanAsini is the name of

a river.
