NOw I remember again, "Lawrance" too said that "his" descendent comes from India and migrate into Guyana. And his family worship Kali and Kateri Amman. But why call Lawrence? Maybe "Lawrence" would like to introduce himself to us in this list? Maybe too "Lawrence" would like to tell us about the worshipping of Kali and Kateri Devi in Guyana. Guest guest
lols yes my name is Lawrence does it sound to strange to you that I am an indian who is guyanese decent and whose family is a worshipper of the great Mother? My call name is Omesh ( lols so i do have an indian name actually it's a book name given to me at birth). My name Lawrence comes from my grandfather whose name is Lawrence. My ancestors has always been dedicated to Lord Madurai Veeran (Madurai Veeran is a family deity) , but my family also bring in the GREAT WORSHIP OF MY DIVINE MOTHER. Maha Kali is the big sister of Maha Kateri (there are said to be 7 sisters). In Guyana and trinidad people who are worshippers of the hindu sect of the Mother is called "Madrasis." I'm gonna make a guess becuase the origin of our worship goes back to the capital of Tamil which is said to be Madras. In "Madrasi" temple which is called Kali Church we worship Madurai Veeran, Muneeswaran, Ganga devi, Shiva, Krishna, Ganesh, Kateri, Maha Kali,Parameshwarie, Sangilini, and etc. "Madrasis" also believe in a land Master who is called "Dee." My grandfather told me "Dee" is suppose to be white man who is land master. The worship of Maha Kateri is always worshipped next to Ganga which is why they are worshipped most of the times next to rivers. Mother Kateri is also called "Little Mother" by madrasis. The color that is associated to Her is always black and people can either sacrfice or let go a black chicken or goat (it has to be black and has to be female). The puja that is greatly associated to Maha Kali is the Karagam puja. In Madrasi temples people do go in trance or they just feel vibrations( which is called play )which can get stronger by pouring dye water upon yourself. In order to see if the people who is "playing" is really telling the truth that it is God they have to swallo fire and sometimes they get beat with a heavy wet rope. I hope that can clear things up on me -Lawrence P.S: i'm 17 .

Good Morning Lawrence, and thank you for that short introduction. You see it makes it easier eh! if you introduce your self properly. Do I find it strange to an indian who is guyanese decent and whose family is a worshipper of the great Mother? I am being told that you can find these two group of people almost everywhere including at the antartica [ I dont know how true this statement is ]: The Indians and Chinese. So NO I am not surprise. We have Russians and many others from Eastern Europe who are the worshipper of the Great Mother. And some of them I know can speak, write and read Sanskrit. I have an opportunity to chat with one from China too, doing her Phd [ if I am not mistaken ] in Shaktism. Even the aboriginese in the Malay Peninsula especially in the Johor region have the image of Shiva and Kali in their sacred ground. You want more? My question is rather normal right and almost anyone would have ask you the same. Where the Lawrence come from if your whole family is of Hindu origin? You have answered them, I thank you.
