MahArupA : Great Shape.

 

Great, supreme form, ie supreme over the other four forms. The Visny

Pr [i.2. 15-17] says, "Purusa, O twice born, is the first form of the

supreme Brahman, then the manifested [five gross elements] and

unmanifested [PradhAna] and lastly time. The enlightened see the

supreme abode of Visnu which transcends these [four] PradhAna, Purusa,

vyakta and time. These four forms, PradhAna, etc, in their due

proportions are the causes of the productuon of the phenomena of

creation, preservation and destruction.
