Guest guest
I was born Jewish, and received lots of discrimination and prejudice as a child from Christians around me who wanted me to convert. (This despite the almost total non-observance of Jewish practices by my family.) As I grew old enough to think for myself, I found myself strongly drawn to several other faiths. To Wicca, to Hinduism, and to Tibetan Buddhism. My experience of Hinduism is that most Hindus consider their religion to be specific to a particular people (this is also the attitude of most Jews toward Judaism). Some Hindus even forbid conversion to Hinduism. Buddhism (Tibetan or otherwise) sees itself as a World Religion (like Christianity), and encourages conversion. My experience with Tibetan Buddhism is that they seem much less pushy and insulting than the proselytizing Christians I experienced in my childhood. And the misconceptions and misunderstandings about Wicca are truly amazing! Mr. Bush, my country's President, has been quoted as saying that Wicca is not even a religion! (But Wiccans never say "There is only One Way, and our way is IT!") My tastes are ecclectic, and if I can't worship (among others) Ganesha, Green Tara, AND the Horned God and Triple Goddess, you can keep your revolution! -- Len/ Kalipadma Make your home page http://www./r/hs

One of the interesting facets of Buddhism is there ability to integrate other Deities rather than demonizing them. I particularly like how, rather than demonizing the pre-Buddhist Bon God's, the made them protectors. I like that. Best, Vajranatha
