Good idea Mary Ann. If you do not try how would you know. Practical

experience is more powerful than any other form of knowledge.

Spy !!!!!! hhhaaa yeah that sounds awesome. Lets give Mary Ann a code

name. How about Parameshwari Mary Devi.

Their website is cool. Their pujas look totally awesone like the 1008 shanka

puja. But they just be a neobrahmanical outfit and not really caring about

Westerners and yada yada. They might be great! I would check them out but I live

in Louisiana. And I'm a Buddhist.

Here is a oft found review on the temple.

It says anyone who is properly initiated can perform puja (to Her).

But then, it is the Guru ("Aiya"), who decides on that.

Quote__________

Another interesting aspect of this temple was that anyone who was

initiated was allowed to lead the service. Women, men and children

are all allowed to be initiated. Initiation consists of memorizing

the mantras and reciting them daily. When the person feels prepared

to lead the service, he or she requests initiation from Aiya. If he

thinks that person is devoted and has followed the appropriate path

he will consent to the initiation, after which time the person may

lead the service. The purpose of this is to show that everyone is

equal in relation to God.

End Quote_______

Here is another short article about the Guru.

Another review here:

It is worth a try. Might be a good place to start.

Those who remember the old U.S. TV series _Get Smart_ will recall

the female spy "Agent 99" (apparently the only name that character

had.)

We could increment that and little and give MAV the code name

"Agent 108".

> How about Parameshwari Mary Devi.

I like that one, too.

MAV/PMD, may I call you Mary Devi for short? It rolls off the

tongue (eh, keyboard) nicely.

Although I doubt our Mary Devi will be making the cross continent

trek to check out the folks in Rush, NY.....

Yes, about Rush, NY -- missed it by THAT much (another Get

Smart reference, for any of you out of that loop).

I dunno, I like the whole thing, Parameshwari Mary, or PMD for

short. Agent 108 and 1008 work, too, but I know I should choose

one, and 108 is less typing :) Amma gives her children names,

but I truly appreciate these offerings from my buds here at SS :) :)
