Guest guest Posted May 30, 2005 Report Share Posted May 30, 2005 Hi Len, Well no ,most worshippers of Bahuchara aren't gay, trangendered or drag queens nor are her priests.This is an internet myth that confused me for awhile.Buhuchara is an incarnation of Bala Tripura Sundari and the eunuch myth and fertility dances performed in her honor by men dressed as females is just one small facet of her worship ,that seems to be dying out in India but being promoted on the internet. She is a regional goddess widely worshipped and prayed to for just about everything by everyone in that area.The gays in Atlanta haven't discovered her shrine here yet but then most gays into eastern stuff here are into Tibetan Buddhism .So most of the worshippers of Bahuchara here are Gujarati immigrants who come from her region.
