Bhaga, means six attributes [refer to the meaning to no 279] and malini, possessor. or She is the female emblem [bhaga]. Thus the linga and De. BhAg Prs., "Those who have the male emblem are the manifestation of Siva; and those having the female emblem are the manigestation of Devi" Or BhagamAlini is one of the fifteen nityA deities. In this mantra the word bhag occurs more frequently according to the school of the DakshinAmurthi than to those of TantrarAja and JNAnArnava. The names of the surrounding deities [AvaranadevatAs] of that [mantra] also are preceded mostly by the word bhaga; hence she has the garland [mAlA] of bhaga [words] BhAskararAya's Commentary Translated into English by R.
