Notes: 1. Many great things the yogi saint appar brings out in this poem. If the God is not thought about in a day those days are just wasted. For, we have got a birth rare to get, but when not utilized to hail the God and get to the Bliss, what use is of this human life to be superior to that of any other animal existence of running behind senses? 2. "pothu n^Ikkith thanai n^inaiya" could lead to multiple interpretations. The devotional way could be, "leaving out the universal things, one who thinks of the Supreme". The philosophers may interpret it as, "leaving out the universal things, one who enquires (thinks) of the self". 3. "pothu n^Ikkith thanai n^inaiya" is a very important stage in the spiritual progress. Even when one does bhakti on God there may still remain universal sense. From the clutter of such stars when the shining of God is seen as the singular Sun there is the dawn. Path of wisdom does it by negating the illusionary things. Path of devotion due to the focus automatically gets rid of others. Whichever be the way, one finally surrenders and the ego and rejoices the Supreme. Salutations to that Supreme Guard in this pursuit. --\ ----------- Name of hara encompass ! World be free from sufferings !!
