Guest guest
Namaste. I'm a newcomer to the list as well, although not a newcomer to worship of Ma Kali. My thanks to Kanna Krishnan for setting up this list. I only become aware a couple of days ago that you are doing this. Nyx, I am touched by what you have written about your troubles with the coven and about your personal experience of Kali. While I'm not acquainted with the circle you're describing, the description sounds fairly typical of the mind-set of a certain sort of group -- a group of people who believe that they have discovered something important (such as the importance of the names of Kali and Shiva), but who don't understand that other people may be making the same discovery in different ways. I like what you wrote about how Kali appeared to you in a dream and brought strength when you needed it. A dream like that is a great and lasting blessing. Om Shantih, Colin. Guest guest
Om Kali !! Welcome NYZ, We are happy to have you here and sad to hear your experience but glad you have pulled through with your " unconditional love" towards Ma .Actually Ma also love you so much that She would have decided to have you out of that situation. The mother leaves the child to play with the toys while she works in the kitchen (the world) but as soon as the child cries and calls for the mother droping the toys down ,Ma will leave everything in the kitchen and come towarsd Her child................. The reason we all share our views in this group is to learn and understand the approaches towards Ma better The best path in spritual pursuit I realise have been beneficial for me (need not neccesarly mean the only way); 1) Follow the guidance of spritual master who comes from proper lineage and guru parampara (master -succesor) To choose appropriate teacher you could read Guru Gita or Kulanarva Tantra to understand the appropriate characteristic of true bonafide spritual master 2) Read Her scriptures The scriptures that you could read on Ma would be Srimad Devi Bhagavatham (Will make us realise Her diverse nature ) ,Chandi Path (will give you the structured system of approach) Devi Gita (summary of Her divine teaching)But most importantly Kalika Purana ( Her Divine play and activities in this world) would be of help.and their are a lot of agamas(spritual treaties) too 3) Aligned yourself with all her devotees and learn the best way to go closer to Her If you could not do this ,you still could associate yourself with Her devotees ..And i beleive this group will be a good help as all our members are very helpful and supportive Remember as what Bhagwan Ramakrishna use to say "She is both formful, formless and beyond". So She is not only blood and vengenance but also our Ma and She can be Unmanifest if She wills so to be beyond any of our comprehension . Spritually inclined person would realise it is like a salt doll trying to measure the amount of salt in the sea as soon as the doll immersed into the sea it becomes one with the sea. Thus a spritual seeker starts his pursuit to understand Her and looses himself with Her and finally become one with Her (That does not mean going around claiming I am Her ,Bhagwan during his lifetime refrain from being called guru as much as posibble to get rid of ego sense of "I") The sages of the lore have tried to define God but only have manage to come to a point of saying Not this !(Neti) Not this !(Neti). Furthermore ,spritual experience has difficulty to be ascribed and explained by words and a lot more easier to learn by experience .Thus, by spritual practices (sadhana) that was followed by people(also called sages, saints) who have had the experience by using the same method before becomes important. When we have used this tools (which is usually recorded in the scriptures so you could affirmed authencity of the experinece when you practice them from your Guru) you could have realization (realising by experience) And you do not have to search hither and thither for guru or teachers because when you heart is sincere with pure unconditional love for Her, She will manifest herself for you as your Guru ,just as when the flowers is ready with honey it need not look for the bee but the bee would come looking for it So , once again we welcome you to Kali Ma family and please share your view points on areas of your interest and if you need anything feel free to ask. We are glad to be of seva(service) to you and all Her childrens........................ Jai Kali !!!!Join the world’s largest e-mail service with MSN Hotmail. Guest guest
>From one Nyx to another: I too welcome you to this list and am sooooo glad you kicked that ego- envolved group to the curb. Still I understand how hard it is to part from friends and hope that you will find many new ones through the worship of MA. Is there any groups that do puja near you. If you are in California I can suggest a few. A site that may inspire you is Chandra Alexandre's organization. http://www.maabatakali.org
Guest guest
Hello All, I just joined the group today and I am happy to be here. I have a few questions: 1. I am trying to learn the Devi Khadgamala. I am unable to find the mp3 in the Shakthi Sadhana group website even though there are references to it in the text. Can someone point me to a URL in the Shakthi Sadhana group from where I can download it? (Reference: http://shaktisadhana.50megs.com/Photo% 20Gallery/khadgamala/sridevikhadgamalaManasa.html) 2. In the files section I find a file called: Sri Devi Khadga Mala Stotram.doc Corrected Text (matching Guruji's mp3) 149 KB kochu1tz May 4, 2004 Who is the Guruji being referred to here? Is he the Guruji for this group? 3. I live in Boston and I am looking for a guru. Do you know of any competent guru in the New England area who can initiate me in to Devi worship and teach me face to face? Thanks and Regards, Ram
Guest guest
Hi Ram: *** I am unable to find the mp3 in the Shakthi Sadhana group website even though there are references to it in the text. Can someone point me to a URL in the Shakthi Sadhana group from where I can download it? *** http://www.vi1.org/mantras/khdgmala/kg.mp3 *** Who is the Guruji being referred to here? *** Sri Amritananda Natha Saraswati of Devipuram, India. *** Is he the Guruji for this group? *** No. He happens to be my guru, but this group is not directly affiliated with him or with Devipuram. There are members here hailing from many excellent and diverse lineages, and many others who are not formally initiated at all. *** I live in Boston and I am looking for a guru. Do you know of any competent guru in the New England area who can initiate me in to Devi worship and teach me face to face? *** Initiation is not really something you order up in this manner; rather, it tends to find you. You may be completely assured that no authentic teacher will ever simply initiate someone on request. It just doesn't work that way. Having said that, however, I will mail you off-board with contact information regarding a wonderful excellent satsangh in your area which may prove a valuable first step in further exploring this path. With best regards DB
