Guest guest
bhuvanesvari – Ruler of the universe. Bhuvana fourteen worlds, or water, or Bhuvanesvari is the deity, indicated by the syllable hrim, or she is in the form of hrim. The TripurAsiddhAnta says, "The great ruler, the wife of Siva, is called Bhuvanesvari, because she has blessed BhuvanAnandanAtha [ aguru] and because she is highly celebrated in all the worlds." BhuvanAnandanAtha is one of the gurus, included under mAnavaugha [ vide supra, I. 37 comm] Or Bhuvanesvari : In the chapter GhatArgalayantra of the DaksinAmUrti Sam. It is said, "O ruler of the Devas, in one syllable there are many worlds… in the syllables ha, etc. from which are composed the word hrim, etc….. in the [ha] the bija of the [syllables of] ether, KailAsa and other regions are established, " and describing the origin of each world, concluded, "Hence, O great ruler, thou art called BhuvanAdhisvari". Again "from the word ha sprang the ether, from the fourth svara the ari…' thus describing the creation of the universe, concludes, "hence thou art called Bhuvanesvari. "thus two explanations are given. BhAskararAya's Commentary Translated into English by R. Ananthakrishna Sastry.
