Guest guest
I look forward everyday to the meanings of the Lalita Sahasranama I did not know about the translation of this into English by R. Ananthakrishna Sastry till I joined this group. I have a couple of queries. I teach young children in my neighborhood both the Sahasranama and Trishati to recite in shloka form as well as in raaga. 1. I could not find the meanings to the earlier names of Lalita as I did not know where to look. Can somebody guide me where to look for the meanings. 2. I recite the Lalita Trishati too everyday. I simply love that one. But I am told that I should not recite it when driving etc. as that is the only time that I get to recite either the Sahasranama or Trishati. Is there a method to be followed in reciting this. Or is it one to one between Her and me, and I can call her anytime? I am also told that women should not recite the Trishati. Advise please. Can I continue teaching Trishati? Regards, Rama Mrs. Rama R. Iyer
Guest guest
My dear Rama: Do yo have rules when you cann your mother? I think not!! ebven if she is the empress of the world. It is when you have apersonal mundane desire and you are reciting for that the rules apply otherwise all these are ruleless. recite when you can and however you can. She will bless you Rama R Iyer <ramariyer wrote: I look forward everyday to the meanings of the Lalita Sahasranama I did not know about the translation of this into English by R. Guest guest
If SHE is everywhere, is there a specific time and place to worship her?? If one is going to do a sankalpa (as our learned Kochu meant), one has to sit in a stationary place and chant. Eventhough, if one is in a cabin (stationary, temporary dwelling with respect to the sadhaka, with hands free to do the necessary duties of sankalpa, comfortably seated) in a moving ship....don't know how it will apply!! :-) Regarding the meanings of previous posts of meanings of Lalitha, in the search box on the top right corner, type in "Lalitha Sahasranama" (case insensitive) and do a search. You should be able to find all the messages with that phrase in the subject or in the text. To get more results, click on the button in the bottom of the resulting screen (Do more search or something like that). , sankara menon <kochu1tz> wrote: > My dear Rama: > Do yo have rules when you cann your mother? padmasani
Dear Ms.Rama, Lalitha Sahasranama, Trishati in particular are highly concentric forms to worship Devi. The only care we have to take is the utterance of each beej or for that matter the entire sloka. For Tamilians there is a uccharana dosha. This is my humble opinion. Apart from that there should not be any other taboo. Actually speaking the anti women thoughts by anyone is caused out of insecurity or lack of enough knowledge. Shakti Sadhana is best performed by women. Swamy Shantananda (Swamy Shivananda's disciple) had initiated thousands of women into trishati and shodasi. He had even given the privilege for women to perform the homam. Devi is antaryami. Listen to what your innerself instructs you. Your bhavana to devi matters. You have visited my blog already. I have written seperately on women and their spiritual rights in a seperate blog and the wonders she performed in my experience.
