The TripurAsiddhAnta says :"As she always abides in the form of speech on the tongue of all her devotees, she is known in the world as VAgvAdini." The Laghustava also [v.15] says, "Since thou art the origin of all worlds, thou art known in the world as VAgvAdini." BhAskararAya's Commentary Translated into English by R. By whom is this speech impelled, with which people speak? And who is the god that joins the sight and hearing? That which is the hearing behind hearing, the thinking behind thinking, the speech behind speech, the sight behind sight -- It also the breathing behind breathing -- Freed completely from these, the wise become immortal, when they depart from this world. - From the Kena Upanisad, 1-2 "VAgvAdini [means] the power behind speech ('YadvAcho Ha VAcham' in Kena Upanisad 1-2).
