Meaning:

Thinking that Your Perfect ornated Feet are the

prosperity, real material and wealth for me,

without regard to anybody else, doing the unfit

deeds, staying at variance, I would wander as

a stiff person. Oh the Lord of thirumullaivAyil

surrounded by the beautiful gardens! Remove the

undergoing pain for, me, the slave who hails You

using the tongue! Oh the One with pAsupatha weapon!

Oh the Supreme Splendor!

 

Notes:

1. As cundharar left thiruvoRRiyUr, he lost the

sight of both his eyes. In all pain (as he mentions

in the oRRiyUr padhikam, somebody dragging (leading)

him with a stick) he reached thirumullaivAyil and sang

the Lord to get rid of the pain.

2. The focus on God and the firmness that nothing else

matters comes out gloriously in this outpouring of

cundharar

perumAn. Obviously that is why the Lord, for Whose

feet

brahma and viShNu were on the pursuit, as the only

hold

for cundharar walked all the way to paravaiyAr's house

to settle the love dispute.
