Mantra question

I've recently started chanting, and the first mantra I chose is a Lakshmi

mantra. I did 2 reps with my mala, and then fell asleep and had this dream

where I was reciting a mantra that helped me remember my dreams.

Does such a thing exist? Or is it a fanciful creation of my dreaming mind?

I find that if I chant before sleep my dreams are definitely richer and

more vivid, I just have difficulty remembering them...

Love and light,

Allison

yes such mantras exist. Then u can dream lucidly and create your own reality

that will come true. But get a Guru - someone who has "attained".

Namaskaar

I believe the message that is coming to you is your subconscious mind projecting

a desire to remember your dreams. This can be a creation of your mind intended

to convey a message to you in your conscious state.

You will observe that you generally have three types of dreams one type will be

where the colour may be grey/ black and white, the next normal colour and the

last type a very shiny glistening type of colour. These as far as I been able to

correspond to the operating Guna ( mode of nature - Sattwa, Rajas and Tamas)

Tamas=Grey

Rajas=Normal and Saatwa = Shiny Colour. Your inability to remember the dreams

is because your bodily energy is quite low or because you may be mentally tired.

Try the following and see if it improves your practise Get up early in the

morning and get about 6 pounds of

sea salt. Mix the salt in water until it becomes a thick paste

Start applying the salt from the crown of your head going down to the soles of

your feet, (in a downward motion only) Rub the chakra points particularly and

place larger amounts of salt on it. In your hands hold about a quarter of a

pound salt (each hand). Allow the salt to remain on your body for approximately

10-15 minutes , this may sting slightly wash this off thoroughly, ( please pay

attention to crevices such as under your arms , if it is allowed to stay, may

irritate the skin).

This will clear off negative energy from your body and is only a superficial

cleansing. This may be done once per week. When you are bathing normally, while

rinsing, try to vizualize that all negative energy and tiredness is leaving your

body as you let the water run off.

The before you begin mantra practice, drink a glass of water, put on clean

clothes and relax.

Breathe deeply and evenly and then begin your practise. A simple thing you may

wish to do also is to keep a diary at your bedhead to record your dreams.

See if these things help you and if you require further information I would be

pleased to help you.

Devindra Maharaj
