Guest guest
Speaking of which, I just typed an article a few weeks ago concerning the differences between Kali and the Kali Yuga. It is not to say Kali has no role in the Yuga (when did Devi not have a role in anything?), but it does no justice to connect her to the Kali Yuga. The Kali Yuga's "Kali" is named after the Demon Kli that is the symbol of the fourth cycle. The Goddess Kali, however, is not necessarily the same thing as the Demon that represents the Fourth Age, which is an age of Corruption. The Kali Yuga and Kali are also pronounced differently. Kali is pronounced like "Kah-lee" and the Kali Yuga's "Kali" is pronounced "Kuh-lee" (I heard it pronounced like "Koh-lee" as well). Correct me if I am wrong, of course, but that is what I did research on, lol...the differences between the two to dispel the misconception of the Yuga being named after the Goddess. Oh, and on a note, I am still reading the posts here...I just rarely post unless I know something about the topics at hand...or I have something to say or inquire. Guest guest
Namaskaar An Ya It is precisely for the reason that you have elucidated, which is that in this age of corruption Ma Kali's Iron will and lightening like illumniation is required to keep one in check and on the right path. Kali represents the Kriya Shakti and is the highest of the Dasha Maha Vidya ( wisdom forms of the Goddess ) To have her Darshan and grace is required to protect a sadhaka. However in the age that we live in, to combat not only Personal, familial and communnal crises we require a force that is highly destructive to combat evil Ma kali is that force ! All I said is to not deviate from her worship because this is the Kali Yuga. She is relevant in all Yugas ! Guest guest
Hello An'ya I like the way you've expressed this. > Speaking of which, I just typed an article a few weeks > ago concerning the differences between Kali and the > Kali Yuga. Please tell me how i can get to see your article. > The Kali Yuga and Kali are also pronounced > differently. "Koh-lee", or perhaps "Koh-lih" would be the Bengali pronunciation. In Bengali the short Sanskrit "a" sound changes to "o". The "Kali" in Kali Yuga and the "Kali" in Kali Devi are not only pronounced differently, they also look quite different when written in nagari script. It is the wretched 26 letter alphabet, which we inherited from the Romans, that causes us to confuse these words. > Oh, and on a note, I am still reading the posts > here...I just rarely post unless I know something > about the topics at hand...or I have something to say > or inquire. If everyone followed this discipline, the virtual world would be a quieter and more peaceful place...
