Namaste,

lol,,,I find myself in a similar position.... Out of no where I got a

call from an aunt.During the Hi/Hello, she said she is going to a

MahaKali temple in Wales (we are both in London) as a day trip for

darshan. Now that would be a 5 hour drive each way. We in the UK just

don't do that...lol. She invited me, however, she had to cancel the

trip. I got a bee in my bonnet, decided to check out this ashram's

website... and and found that the next day...full moon there would be

a Devi's full moon puja.

Now I don't know what came over me but I HAD to go. I put a few things

in the car, including my daughter and just went! My car, not often

reliable even during local journeys behaved as if brand new. I didn't

get lost once during the journey there (can't say the same on the way

back!)

My daughter, only 6 sat through a 2hr Shiva Linga puja on Fri PM,

2hr KartikyaSwami Puja on Sat AM (after only 4hours sleep!!)no messing

about, no talking and no complaints. She was in tears when we were

told that children under 7 are not allowed in Maa's temple during the

puja. Also that, since it was a full moon puja, there were 1000 ppl

there and only space for 40 in the temple!! Plus that there was no

chance for even a space in the adjoining room (also only sitting 40)

to watch the pooja on a big screen.

BUT we got a space in the adjoining room!!! The Puja was just breath

taking!!! Next day 6:30AM, my daughter insisted we wait outside for

the morning puja to finish and take darshan and then leave to go home.

We waited 2hrs for darshan. There was not ONE complaint from my

daugter....not about the long pujas, the long waits, the food,

sleeping in the car.....

Now...I don't know if Devi called me or my daughter (I'd like to think

both!)because when my daughter was 5, I was going through a website

with lots of pictures of various deities. She was watching and told me

they were ok. She thought pictures of Devi's aspect as Laxshmi and

Druga were "nice". One look at a Pic of KaliMaa and she said she

wanted it. Since then my PC desktop has to be that picture, she has it

mounted up on her bedroom wall....

Either way..I have come away with an awarness of Devi in that aspect

that brings tears to my eyes and I feel truely blessed. So...you just

keep loving her! When you need her as Laxshmi or any other aspect,

she'll come to you in that aspect because, yes it is still HER.

unbalanced. People have mentioned that I seem a little too enthusiatic

about it to my own detriment. I cannot lie she is the truest love of

my life!

should do something about it. A friend suggested that I pray on Laksmi

and even said that they are the same Goddess! While I know this to be

true I find something overwhelming in Kali's form and also she is how

I got interested in Hinduism; Through her Darshan. Any thoughts on this?
