Meaning:

Gave Yourself; Got me. Oh shankarA, who is smart?

I got never ending bliss. What single thing You got

from me? Oh shiva residing at thirupperunthuRai,

my Lord Who has abode in my mind!

My Father! Ishwara! One Who took (my) body as

residence! I do not have anything to return for this

favor.

 

Notes:

1. God came in our way and gave Itself to us.

Got ourselves into Its fold. Sounds like a fair deal.

But actually not. God is ever brimming in bliss.

It has no use of anything else. But the soul is

suffering under the parasite of filth. Due to this

favor of God, the soul reorients away from

that parasite and towards the bliss showering

Lord shiva. The soul has got a really great

deal. But can it do anything at all to return

this favor to the God Who is always brimming

in Bliss?! It can just hail and cry rejoicing this

Grace. That is thiruvAcakam.

2. cadhurar - smart; kaimmARu - return favor.
