Guest guest
I was wondering if there was any special significance to the order in which the chakras are mentioned in the Lalitha Shasranama - Vishudhdhi, Anahata, Manipura, Swadhistana, Mooladhara, Ajna and Sahasrara. It just seemed odd that they were not listed in the ascending or descending order. Anyone with more insight?

First you should go through the Lalitha Sahasranama. Not just recite it verbally, but recite with an understanding. Look at the names accordingly, that if you know about the chakras accordingly, then only maybe you understand what this is all about. Rasmi Mala, we have it in the group, but buried amongst those archives. That too if you know how to find it. Hehheee
Guest guest
Well, it is not so complex, if you look at the description of devathas assigned to the chakras. Vishudhdhi = Vadhanaika samanvidha = 1 face Anahatha = Vadhanadhvaya = 2 faces Manipura = Vadhanathraya samyuktha = 3 faces swadhishtana = chaturvakthra-manohara = 4 beautiful faces Mooladhaara = panchavakthra = 5 faces Ajna = shadanana = 6 faces Sahasrara = sarvavarNobashobitha = glows with all colors (no facial count) But sarvavarNoba shobitha= sarva + varNa + upa + shobitha. Counting the aksharas in sanskrit a to ksha 50 up and 50 down (- may be Kochu can give us a crash course in sanskrit and this interpretation)- upa = 10. So 10 X 100 = 1000, the highest number in the above series and also the hardest to attain state of Kundalini. A nice combination of numbers and description of HER aspects. Just another interpretation. :-) , "NMadasamy" <nmadasamy@s...> wrote: > , sankara menon <kochu1tz> > wrote: > > why not take a look at Rasmi mala? Guest guest
I chant LS almost every day ( I try to chant it with understanding the words ) I also thought about the order of chakras . Murali thanks for asking that question it is very interesting indeed ! sorry i dont know what is the answer . someone mentioned Rasi Mala ? since it is such a initatiory subject i almost feel apprehensive to ask but what is it ? Guest guest
Of course you can... but why should one do it? It would be literally like pouring water ona pot with earth only without a seed in it. This would be a very stupid act and a waste of ones precious precious life time since no plant can grow from earth only there has to be a seed planted first. If you want to get the siddha deha by yourself which is possible without the help of a teacher lineage, but than again you can not start with the watering, you have to create the seed first by your own yoga effort. In that case most probably "watering" would not use the LS. > > No! No! If you are not initiated you CANNOT and I repeat CANNOT > recite what more look at the Rasmi Mala! So says the scriptures. Guest guest
Dear All I'm not sure what I say has much significance to the L S in kundalini Tantra by swami Satyananda there is a coarse set out that begins with stimulating agna chakra then works down the shushumna. Why he says begin at agna, is that as one begins to clear or open the lower centres because of agnas stimulation a detached attitude is acquired if any one has practiced the kriya form of kechari mudra with ujiay pranayama also develops a detached attitude the lower centres stir up a lot of emotional and sexual desire. Positive as well as negative samkaras to boot The best way to deal with these samkaras is with a detached attitude. How ever the reason you need to be initiated is because the guru needs to know your real hearts desire and help you along your course he she knows when your ready. Any one who wishes to play with the Kundalini, should consult a master with first hand experience.Or have thorough (not blind) faith in there god or religious doctrine. Guest guest
Thank you. That makes sense. But then the question is transferred to a different level - why the number of faces assigned to the deities does not show a pattern with respect to the order of the chakras. Should it? , "ganpra" <ganpra@r...> wrote: > Well, it is not so complex, if you look at the description of > devathas assigned to the chakras. > > Vishudhdhi = Vadhanaika samanvidha = 1 face > Anahatha = Vadhanadhvaya = 2 faces > Manipura = Vadhanathraya samyuktha = 3 faces > swadhishtana = chaturvakthra-manohara = 4 beautiful faces > Mooladhaara = panchavakthra = 5 faces > Ajna = shadanana = 6 faces > Sahasrara = sarvavarNobashobitha = glows with all colors (no facial > count) > > But sarvavarNoba shobitha= sarva + varNa + upa + shobitha.
