dwaadashaantastaanam lalaadasya uttara bhagaH. Dwadashanta stana is the place

above the forehead but below the crown of the head;

that would approximatly be the hairline; but then if u are bald you must think

where the hairline was and thats the place *smile*

Namaskaar Kesavaji

I believe that I read this term either in the Shiva

sutras or in the Vigyna Bhairava and if I remember

correctly it is point that is at a distance of twelve

finger breaths from the body. I will try to confirm

this information and get it to you at a later time,

right now my library is is a horrible mess and I have

difficulty locating these texts.

Dwadasanta I believe is a location of a psychic center above the

sahasrara. There are chakras above the sahasrara and the dwadasanta

is the 5th above sahasrara (12th starting from the mooladhara).

Pandit Dev Ji is correct.

It can be internal and external.

Internal: from nasika distance of 12 fingers, that is region of heart. This is

within your body.

External: from nasika distance of 12 fingers, that is outer space or outside

your body.

This is important for agamic practice.

Pranam!

Virendra.

Namaskar Kesavaji,

1. Twelve fingers breaths from the body is basic for yoga, because our

magnetic aura have this dimension, or, around physical body 12 fingers

outside is magnetic aura.

2. Twelve fingers from the body in area forehead have one points very

special for each soul. Twelve finger from the forehead in end of magnetic

aura soul must development lens Third Eye or Eterical Eye, Horus Eye,

Intuitional Eye,.. - (different names and stages have of course Third Eye)!

Remarks: For this purpose best and easiest way is Shivayoga technique for

opening Third Eye without any bad effect! Lens is form Ishta Linga (which

must involved of course form Shiva Linga inside).

This is (for me) real meaning dvadasantha.

3. Twelve fingers from the body in area top of head is Sahasrara chakra!

Depend of context authors usually use this meanings.
