Guest guest
I would like to know the difference between Veidhika method and agama method in doing Kumbabheishek in a temple? Do we need to use only sivacharya or can we use also sastrigal in kumbabhishek or both? R Ravi Sankar How much free photo storage do you get? Store your holiday snaps for FREE with Photos. Guest guest
Respected Pandit Dev Mahraj Ji, You may kindly comment on the Veidhika method. In Agama method, we focus on "Antrariksh Kumbakh" - internal Pranayama or the state of stopping of breath. When you are seated in Sandhi, this state surely opens the door to Bliss. The journey starts. Virendra revathi ravisankar <revathiravisankar wrote: I would like to know the difference between Veidhika method and agama method in doing Kumbabheishek in a temple? Guest guest
Hi, Not sure if there is a vedic method, for kumbhabhisek there is only done in the agamic way. For as Tirumoolar says Veda is general, Agama is specific. All temple rituals, construction etc go according to Agama. In case of conflict between Veda and Agama, Agama is followed. Again according to Shaiva agamas, ONLY a sivacharya(or some one who has trained and received initiation under a sivacharya) is permitted to enter the sanctum for pooja. Non-sivacharyas are prohibited from doing this, sadly this is not the case in many temples. -yogaman , revathi ravisankar <revathiravisankar> wrote: > I would like to know the difference between Veidhika method and agama method in doing Kumbabheishek in a temple? > > Do we need to use only sivacharya or can we use also sastrigal in kumbabhishek or both? > > R Ravi Sankar > > > > > How much free photo storage do you get? Guest guest
Namaskaar According to the method that I was taught the secret is to focus on the space between the breaths when the mind is lead to focus on this state, it naturally leads to a stoppage of the breathing. To force this stoppage of breath can lead to tension headaches and a host of other problems. The idea is to naturally and calmly enter this state without violence in thought which leads to an altered consciousness. hope this is what you were looking for. Guest guest
Namaskaar Maybe I don't understand the terms correctly, would appreciate if you could shed some light on this for us all. --- mahahradanatha <mahahradanatha wrote: > > there is a minor difference between Kumbhabhisheka > and Kumbhakam..... > > *g* hmph hmph hmph > > > , Dev Maharaj > <dev_maharaj> > wrote: Namaskaar According to the method that I was taught the secret is to focus on the space between the breaths when the mind is lead to focus on this state, it naturally leads to a stoppage of the breathing. Guest guest
Kumbhabhiseka is consecrating or reconsecrating a temple and(or the murtis by doing abhisheka. http://www.dattapeetham.com/india/tours/2003/nada_prasara_2003/trinida d_pratishthe/pratishthe_june9/heliocpter_abhisheka.jpg This is Abhisheka by helicopter of a giant murti of hanumanji. Kumbhaka is part of yoga breath control. Both terms are derived from Kumbha meaning vase. One is the vase formend by the lower part of the body, while retaining the breath, the other is the vase full of ganga jala etc. used to empty the water on the head of the murti or top of temple conbstruction. In the picture you see the helicopter with the Vase. , Dev Maharaj <dev_maharaj> wrote: > Namaskaar > > Maybe I don't understand the terms correctly, would > appreciate if you could shed some light on this for us > all. > > > > --- mahahradanatha <mahahradanatha> wrote: > > > > > there is a minor difference between Kumbhabhisheka > > and Kumbhakam..... > > > > *g* hmph hmph hmph > > > > > > , Dev Maharaj > > <dev_maharaj> > > wrote: Namaskaar > > According to the method that I was taught the secret is to focus on the space between the breaths when the mind is lead to focus on this state, it naturally leads to a stoppage of the breathing. Guest guest
Namaskaar Thank you for responding and just so that you know I was present when this kumbhabhishek was being performed in Trinidad which is where I live. Thank you for the information however, I was hoping for something a little more along the lines of some research information (what you sent I already have-with the exception of the website on Taleju.) As far as I understand there is a cave where Jvalamukhi is worshipped if you have any pictures or know where to get them, would be nice. If you can point me in that direction would be greatly aprreciated. Dhanyavaad Pandit Devindra Maharaj
