Meaning:

Meditating only on the peerless ways through

which (He) governed me abolishing the body that

does not stay focused and the excellence in which

the Venerable fondles the devotees of shiva,

to the Eight-formed, to the Ambrosia that springs

melting my mind, the Guide Who is in the shade

of banyan, the One Who oriented me towards Himself

we say, "Very many years!"

 

Notes:

1. The illusion of, "I am the body" is removed.

2. aTTamUrthi - God residing in earth, water,

soul, air, sun, moon, fire, sky.

3. n^iTTai - focus; ciTTan - virtuous, venerable;

paTTan - guru.
