According to the Devi Pr. among the sixty-eight sacred places, KalaNjara is a place where Kalakantha is woreshipped. Or Kala a soft low sound, kantha, throat, ie a soft low sound proceeds from her throat. or there is a story in the Linga Pr that in order to destroy the daitya DAruka, "Siva created Kali as well as Kapardini and KAlakanthi" BhAskararAya's Commentary Translated into English by R.
