That time of year again...Pitr Shraadha

It is that time of year where one is supposed to remember, honour and

"feed" one's ancesters. It is alledged doing so leads to the path to

salvation and not doing so leads to hardship and hell. BUT only a

male member is eligible and preferably a son. The emphasis on a male

decendent is stressed to an extent that it appears that its better

that nothing is performed rather than a female decendent doing it. Why?
