Guest guest
siddhavidyA : Eternal Science ie. the PaNcadasi. Hence the PaNcadasi is exempted from the precaution necessary for other mantras. The KAdimata says "The [astrological] calculations are unnecessary as it is the eternal and universal [mantra]" BhAskararAya's Commentary Translated into English by R. Guest guest
Does this mean that one need not be initiated by a guru to chant the panchadasi? I had heard the opposite especially wrt the panchadasi and the shodasi. anyone? , "Devi Bhakta" <devi_bhakta> wrote: > "Mantras like srI bAlA, srI paNchadasI, and srI sodasI are known by > the name srI vidyA. Guest guest
>From what I have learnt, no need for a Guru for panchadasi. Even written words from a book can be a Guru. Owing to the power of the mantra, a Guru will find the initiate. The Guru may be a living human being, or a Guru who had passed on to HER abode and in some cases HERself. (This statement is just to differentiate the physical aspect of the Guru and not to state that Guru and HER are different). Shodasi is obviously at a higher stage of panchadasi, so a Guru may be required to evaluate the student, as a Guru will be readily available as mentioned above. , "manoj_menon" <ammademon@g...> wrote: > Does this mean that one need not be initiated by a guru to chant the > panchadasi?
