Guest guest
This might be interesting for those of you who live in NY or Los Angeles: [begin quoted article] 'Naked in Ashes' all set for its theatrical release in L.A. Created by a team of filmmakers in Los Angeles, 'Naked in Ashes' a 108-minute feature documentary that depicts a fascinating and palpable experience of the yogis in India, is all set for its theatrical release on Oct. 21 at the Nuart Theater in Los Angeles, according to a press release. The film tells stories of several Indian yogis, their daily activities and their pilgrimage in the Himalayas to the Kumbh Mela spiritual festival that takes place near Allahabad every 12 years. 'Naked in Ashes' reveals the curious reality of these holy men, who find true satisfaction in nothing less than leading a life of chastity, austerity, and complete devotion. From covering themselves for warmth in the ashes of the dead, to pulling automobiles by one's genitalia, the film captivates with its candid portraits of these rugged and ragged individualists, shot in stunning cinematography, the press release said. Directed, produced and written by Paula Fouce, 'Naked in Ashes' involves many top rung filmmakers like: Tim Kettle, a nominee for five Director's Guild Awards, and who has received two Emmy nominations; editor, William Haugse A.C.E., who had received an Oscar nomination for Best Feature Editing for the Academy Award winning documentary 'Hoop Dreams,' and creative producer, Maria Florio, who co-wrote, co-produced and co-directed the Academy Award- winning Best Documentary, 'Broken Rainbow.'
