It also gives some more description of who She is and what Her powers and functions are, which excerpt I have inlcuded below from the site. " But how do you invoke the deity into the yantra? Reportedly, the yantra is otherwise worthless. Lars
Guest guest
Thanks for your answer Cathie. I have no better answer than what you gave in your mail. For us ordinary people who aren't fullblown yogis - or have such a person at help - I think a daily meditation and honor is a good choice. (her mantra is given below from a website that told it) maybe you could do it by saying Her mantra...which is below, excerpted from this site here: And, the question of invoking a deity, isn't that a question of magical acts? What about prayers? Is it unheard of to pray to a Goddess without performing the magical act of invoking Her? Isn't invoking a magical act performed by somebody who has a lot of practice in certain spiritual matters, and knows how to channel the deity to her/his specific desired purupose, where as a common person would just petition a deity through prayer, asking humbly? Or sometimes even not asking, but just admiring and honoring the Goddess. I personally don't believe in trying to bend the deities to my personal desires. I was reading a book that talks about a Kali statue in a temple and how by daily worship of Kali the everyday people of the village built up the power of the statue through their worship energies going into the statue. But, special preists came in for the once yearly ritual to extract the power of the Kali from one statue in the temple and transfer it to another statue in the forest for the Night of Kali. Maybe if you use your Yantra in part of a daily meditation and honor the Varahi Devi and say Her mantra, over time your prayers and admiration for Her will build up a spiritual force into the Yantra? But I suppose if you were a special kind of priest you could just invoke it and it would be as simple as that...? I dont 'tend to believe in such simple magics. A person -- the average person -- I believe, has to build such things up over time through the practice of Devotion which I personally believe comes from the Heart and through familiarity with what a deity stands for and who She is, and even the most common person can do devotion and receive benefits of devotion. But as to the magical act of just invoking the power of the deity without having to do devotion over time, I don't know and I certainly don't know what the "correct" answer is to yoru question from a Hindu perspective. I'm just a common person who is attracted to this Goddess and while I do believe that priests have their own kind of special abilities, that the common person always has available the vehicle of devotion and that Devotion can be a fairly simply matter of the heart. Otherwise the Deity is useless and inaccessible to the masses. Guest guest
the varahi yantra available for sale is one form of varahi, which is the most common and hard to inscribe form. i am not able to recall the name now. you need to get close to her to get to Sri Rajarajeshwari. Varahi is a strict mother , in the sense she will love her children immensely , at the same time if her children choose to do a wrong act intentionally, she will correct them appropriately. thank you all sat guru sri varahi saranam , SophiasRealm@a... wrote: > > This site sells Yantras and shows a Yantra of Varahi Devi. > It also gives some more description of who She is and what Her powers and > functions are, which excerpt I have inlcuded below from the site. Guest guest
What is that site? - SophiasRealm Monday, October 03, 2005 6:20 PM Re: Varahi Devi Yantra and etc Thank you, In this regard (Her strict loyalty) She sounds a lot like Kali. There sure is a LOT to understand. Nothing simple like Father Son and Holy spirit ;-) I started out doing a web search last night just to find out about the Sun Kalas and ended up with a site on Kali as the Vedic Language and a very extensive site on the Mahavidyas. SO Much Information! So many directions all at once! I'm awestruck at the shere magnitude of it all! Now I will go look up Sri Rajarajeshwari and who knows what kind of tangents That will lead to.
