Similarly the words are allegories for other things and internal meditations. Having taken litteral meanings where they are not intended to be taken as such people do cruel inhuman acts and nothing; just nothing will happen. N siddhi will flow from such acts. > > Max Dashu <maxdashu@l...> wrote: > High end? Guest guest
93, "Svayambhu-pushpa" is a menstrual fluid of young girl or virgin - this is the ritual meaning of the term. Sometimes it may have indirect meaning as well. U have to see the context and use Ur logic. Or better ask kula-guru first . Guest guest
I dont think different gurus have different meaning to the same word. By Logic I think the word swayambu is used as in "Swayambuva manu", the first one or self created, It is offered the devi because it is the first flower on earth(it is the mother of all power). There is a word Swayambu pushpamala ,mala is usually made with flower, (not from fluid)..just logic,I am not sure. , "Arjuna Taranandanatha" <bhagatirtha@m...> wrote: > > 93, > > "Svayambhu-pushpa" is a menstrual fluid of young girl or virgin - this > is the ritual meaning of the term. Guest guest
93, Let me provide U an article from online sanskrit dictionary - meanings of the word "pushpa": 1 puSpa n. (for %{puSka}?) a flower , blossom (ifc. f. %{A} , in names of plants oftener %{I} ; cf. Pa1n2. 4-1 , 64 Va1rtt. 1) AV. &c. &c. ; the menstrual flux Sus3r. ; a partic. disease of the eye , albugo Sus3r. ; a spot on the nails and teeth Car. ; (in dram.) gallantry , politeness , declaration of love Das3ar. Sa1h. Prata1p. ; N. of a Sa1man Ta1n2d2Br. La1t2y. ; of a book , Divya7iv. ; a kind of perfume L. ; the vehicle of Kubera L. ; blooming , expanding L. ; m. a topaz R. ; N. of a serpent-demon MBh. ; of a son of S3list2i Hariv. ; of a son of S3an3kha ib. (C. %{puSya}) ; of a Bodhi-sattva(?) Lalit. ; of a mountain Ma1rkP. ; of a book (prob. = %{puSpa-sUtra}) , Divya4v. ; (%{A}) f. N. of the town Campa1 L. Note "menstrual flux" is there . Dictionary is here: http://webapps.uni-koeln.de/tamil/ This particular meaning is confirmed by the context in Tantras as well as by direct references. For example in Sarvollasa several types of menstrual blood are discussed among which is svayambhu kind. Please also concider the fact that true meaning of scriptural symbolism is existing in Kaula lineages. What i told is not my invention . BTW academic studies are often useful in such cases - scientists have no intention to pervert tantric doctrines (although they may mistake of course)... While certain modern swamis tend to put everything upside down in order to hide every note of sex in their religion. Just read Shmashana-kali Sahasranama from Kalikula-sarvasva in original and compare with Swami Satyananda's "translation" in his book "Kali Puja" - this will give a nice idea of such sad cases...
