Guest guest
Dear Sankara, Because I didn't know such a text existed. Dear Nityashakti, Thank you for the advice, though I have two questions if you don't mind. 1) If it comes down to a choice between the LS and the hKhadgamala Stotram, which one is the better practice to maintain? 2) If there is an opportunity to practice one of these twice a day and one of them only once, which is better practiced twice? Dear Pradeep, Thank you for your message, Rishi.
Guest guest
Kochu, If you all don't mind can I jump in? This is a common question posed to my guru who answered: They both are essential in the practice of Sri Vidya and have 2 totally different energies. Thus they should be performed together with the Khadgamala chanted shortly before the Lalitha Sahasranama. She went on to say they have different purposes, as the Khadgamala was chiefly used in olden days to ward off natural disasters and diseases by Kings & Kingdoms. It is jealously guarded by pandits even to this day, as many have a problem that westerners are even getting a hold of it. The same with the Lalitha Sahasranama. She said the Khadgamala can be chanted anytime, but is preferable at about 9 to 12 at night, the time sacred to Devi. Guest guest
Dear Sadvhi, Thank you for your reply. My understanding was that the Khadgamala Stotram did not require initiation. I have done the LS before and it didn't take too long (I am partially trained in the Purva Mimamsa, so most texts are not difficult at all), Regards, Rishi. Dear Janardana, Thank you, that was a very helpful message. According to your lineage, does the Khadgamala require initiation or not? If one has practiced it without initiation (out of mistake), is it neccesary to do formal prayaschit? Regards, Rishi.
