"Kesar" (I think) is the term used for saffron when

it's used in incense, making yellow rice, or as an

additive in Chayavanprash.

"Haridra" (I was told) is turmeric. "Curcurmin," an

ingredient found in turmeric, balances high blood

sugar and heals some cancers. A ball of turmeric

powder can be used as a murthy for Haridra Ganapati in

ritual.

Don't know about this "haldi" stuff! :-)

Now I want to play my old Donovan albums! "They call

it Mellow Yellow (quite rightly!)"

Curcuma longa (haldi, haridra) is an antibacterial and anti cancer ingredient. It

can be used along with tulasi( oscimum sanctum) and neem (Azadirachta indica)

and boswellia serrata(guggul) for controlling inflammation in cancer in cancer

patients.

All these are holy ingredients and have immense medicinal value
