Mother India

Namaste,

 

i have only just watched this film - was objective for the first third

of it, then swept up by the remaining two thirds. i gained a distinct

impression, at the end, that 'Mother India' is (for me) a parable of

Durga slaying Mahisa - it is through this sacrifice that the sacred

order is restored, and it is through the self-sacrifice of Birju, that

the village receives deliverance
