hrdayasthA : Residing in the heart.

 

Because she is to be contemplated as the heart.

 

or parAbija is called hrdaya. The Kalpa-sUtra :"He who knows the heart

of the Lord finds happiness at every step." Here heart means the

parAbija.

 

Or, hrdaya, a Upanisad called Paramesvarahrdaya.

 

Or hrdaya, the seed of the universe, because it is the seed of all.

The AnuttarAtrimsikAsastra : "Just as a great Bayan Tree is contained

potentially in a tiny seed, so the animate and inanimate universe

resides as a seed in the heart"

She is seated in the heart.

 

Hrdaya is the seat of the DevI as KAmarAjA-bIja. SrI Ramana Maharsi

and many sacred texts teach us that the seat of the soul in our body

is neart the heart; a little to the right of it. Many devotees

contemplate Her as seated in the heart; that is, anAhata padma (the

Heart Chakra). The pArA-bIja of a mantra is also known as Krdaya. SrI

DevI resides there; i.e. She is the power and life of the mantra.
