daksayajNavinAsini : Destroyer of the sacrifice of Daksa

There are two Daksas, one is known as PrajApati and the other is a

human king, an incarnation of the former. Though Siva destroyed the

sacrifices of both, Devi was the instrument [of destruction]. The

BrahmAnda and VAyu Prs. says, " After consulting the seven rsis, he

cursed Daksa [saying], become a human king in the CAksusa cycle. You

will be born of a mArisa [caste] woman, as the son of Pracetas, and

as the grandson of PrAcinabarhis, and you will be known by the name

of Daksa.... Desiring to please Devi I shall destroy your sacrifice"

BhAskararAya's Commentary

Translated into English by R. Ananthakrishna Sastry

Thus ends the seventh KalA called SusumnA with the sixth hundred in

the SaubhAgyabhAskara composed by BhAsurAnanda

She is the Destroyer of the sacrifice of Daksa, which was performed

in defiance of Her Lord, Siva. So she destroys all attempts and

forces that defy Siva or the Godhead or "theistic acts."
