thirucciRRambalam

Meaning:

In the song (starting) 'aRRanRi', in the bounds of

the mean ones who refuse to be uplifted

(even) when the One, Who made the sangam, uplifting,

if the palm-leaf can move upstream, one who ate wisdom

said, "Wisdom is love on God".

Notes:

1. As he comes to the final stages of his elucidation

of the thiruppAcuram of cambandhar, cEkkizAr perumAn

highlights the ultimate wisdom in this song.

2. The Bliss is not in staying unattached to

everything.

The Bliss is not in continuing under the influence of

filth

either. Lord shiva is the resplendent Who is Blissful

and

Merciful. It is those who realize that God stay tuned

to It

with the glue of love - like that of kaNNappar - get

the Bliss.

When this channel of love is established the flood of

Bliss

automatically pushes out the stagnant filth and makes

the receiver 'Bliss'ful.

3. After establishing through various pramANas that

worship of Lord shiva is the doable thing for

upliftment,

cambandhar showed pratyaksha pramANa (physical/ocular

evidence) to the pANDiya emperor by showing the palm

leaf

that went against the current of the river. That is

the song

'aRRanRi". In the explanation of that song cEkkizar

completes

the vritti putting as the ultimate conclusion, "nyAnam

Ican pAl anbE".
