The understanding of "punishment" in Abrahamite religions also differ. Some

theologians go as far as to say that every soul will be saved - that is a theory

of apokathastasis preached by Origen and alike. Some kabbalists hold a same

view, for example R. M. Laitman.

 

To see what is really meant by some religious expression we have to see the

mystical side of the tradition at issue, and not judge only by by outer forms

that may bear very little truth in them.
