Guest guest
[NARENDRA MODI, Chief Minister of Gujarat as interviewed by pradeep nambiar for sanskar tv. Watch it on www.sanskartv.co.in "Spirituality and Management"] What is the secret of success? I believe in hard work. Which direction I pursue, I don’t leave it, I am committed to it. Instead of dreaming about results to be achieved, I believe in dreaming about action to be performed. In the pursuit of results there is dissatisfaction, there is agony. In pursuit of action there is joy, there is eternal happiness and peace. Where there is no joy, there is no happiness, where there is no happiness, there is no enthusiasm and inspiration, and without inspiration and enthusiasm there is no life. What is your inspiration in life from our puranas? Everything from our ancient puranas needs to be implemented in life. I am inspired by Jatayu from Ramayana. Look at his dedication and commitment to righteousness. He doesn’t have the strength and power to take on Ravana. Knowing that, he takes on Ravana to save mother Sita. Jatayu is an inspiration to fight for values and take on the evils of the world. What is the importance of team and organization in management? Organization is the most essential thing in management. Organization is strength. The bigger the organization greater the strength. Lord Krishna could have lifted the Govardhan Parbhat on his own but he assembled the gwalabalas and told them that the govardhan parbhat can only be lifted by their sticks. Lord Ram could have reached Lanka by any means but he assembled the vanaras and showed them that it is because of them that the bridge to Lanka has been built. The moral is to unite people however small they are. The bigger the organization greater is the strength and results. BIG ORGANISATION, ONE GOAL, COMMON PURUSHARTH, VICTORY WILL BE OURS. Which form of leadership do you believe in? I believe in spiritual leadership, not to be mistaken for religious leadership. World has evolved out of spiritual leadership. Lord Ram and Lord Krishna are embodiments of spiritual leadership. Siddarth leaves home and becomes Lord Gautam Buddha. My leadership is inspired by spirituality. A true King is he, "jisse na Rajya ke kaamna hai, na moksh ke kaamna hai , na punarjanam ke kaamna hai , mujhe sirf gariboke aasu pohachna hai." I have no desire of kingship, no desire for liberation, no desire for rebirth but only to wipe out the tears of the poor. What are failures in life? It has an element of spirituality in them. The guts to recognize the failure within us. The day I recognize my mistakes, I would move way ahead in life. I should be open to criticism. Understand them, then I would be a lesser burden to the society. Message to the youth? To people who have lost their path I would love to be a guiding factor. Not as a huge spectator but a small deep, a small lamp that guides the youth towards their goals. Let us not thrust our failures on our youth but let us guide them to victories in their pursuit of their goals.
