Guest guest
Thanks, Felica - Below is a clip from lalitopakhyana site, which prompted me to ask question. In that paragraph you will see Bhanda released Mahasurastra from which Madhu, Kaitabha, Mahisha , Dhumralochana, chanda, Munda etc were released. I compared this with six inner enemies like – Kama , Krodha, Lobha, Moha, Mada, Matsarya i.e.,lust, anger, miserliness, infatuation, pride and jealousy. In my opinion ,these attributes cannot and should not be tamed - it need to be eradiacted. I donot think anger for good cause is an inner enemie.. If someone feels angry that victims of tsunami is not getting any aid and they set out to do something by himself is a positive quality. This anger becomes satvik. If any anger to ruin someone becomes tamsik that is what attributes to bhandasura. this tamsik attitude should not be tamed infact, need to be eradiacated, this is what devi did in below paragraph. She wiped out with her shakti's the entire army of Bhanda and finally Bhabdasura, May be Felica you are right after above enemies were wiped then finally one is left with wordly attachmentt this also devi eradiactes so that a true sadhak is relieved of the cylcle of birth and death which sometimes we call as moksha or mukti from karma.. I was only trying to putforth my point of view but it got distracted. Maybe, I might have used wrong word unintentially but not out of venom. This anybody could read and see. But, it was taken out of contest and made to look like a big mountain out of mole. Still my understanding can be totally wrong - hence I asked panel what their view of internal Bhandasura. still feedbacks are welcome - this is only a learning media, we all are here to make mistakes and learn. raji. ______________________________\ _ Overwhelmed with grief, Bhanda himself attacked with Kutilaksha and thirty-five generals. Lalita herself faced him, knowing that the others could not withstand him. Bhanda released the Mahasurastra from which Madhu, Kaitabha, Mahisha, Dhumralochana, Chanda, Munda, Chikshura, Chamara, Raktabija, Shumbha, Nishumbha, Kalakeyas arose and smashed the army of Shaktis. Lalita became furious and burst into a loud angry laugh. From this appeared Durga. She stuck down these Danavas, bowed to Lalita. Bhanda now discharged the arnavastra, flooding the field, whereupon the goddess created a huge tortoise from the nail of her index finger who supported her armies. The Asura lord now discharged missiles named after Hiranyaksha, Hiranyakashipu, Bali, Shasrarjuna, Paulastya, Rajasura, Kali and Mahamoha. They were countered by the goddess creating from her nails Varaha, Nrisimha, Vamana, Parashurama, Kodandarama, Vasudeva-Samkarshana, Pradyumna and Aniruddha, Kalki and finally Shambhava. Ultimately, by the Narayana missile, she burnt up the entire army of Danavas, followed by the Pashupata missile which killed the generals. Bhana she killed with the Mahakameshvara missile. > >Hello, > >Doesn't bhandasura refer to false self-identification aka ego >attachment which obscures truth? aka a veil of ignorance? >self-identification with a tool? > >Love, >Felicia > > > > >, "rajeshwari iyer" > > > ><rajii31@h...> wrote: > > > > > > > > > > Thanks.
