Where I come from (California), we say death *IS* change - synonymous. I have found, in my own experience, there is a necessarily destructive element to radical change. YMMV, of course. The destructive nature of change is less apparent when change is incremental. Less apparent = veiled only to the unobservant or ignorant, but still apparent to those who have eyes to see and ears to hear. For me, each time I have effected a change, I have lost friendships along the way. Of course, I have gained new friends, new wonderful relationships with fascinating people. :-) But, always, there is a period of mourning the loss of old friends who were unable to relate in the new way. This melancholy is one of the ways I experience Lord Siva dwelling on Meru and in the ghat always accompanied by his demons which are his friends. Like Buddha welcoming his demon Mara, the muscles in my body no longer tie themselves in knots over my demons. :-) That is how I have internalized and transmuted to gain a natural equinimity. One avadhut, Dadaji/Mahendranath, guru of some Western Naths, was very attached to equipoise. I strongly suspect this attachment to equipoise was precisely because, as Lalita Devi has noted in her account of her time spent with him, Dadaji was anything but equinimical. LoL. Lalita's account, if anyone is interested, can be found here: http://www.nathsociety.org/stories NMadasamy, quoting Dr. Ballantine, wrote: > If you have the basic > foundation of how to redirect this energy, you can redirect this > energy to the higher cakra. But, when I sat before my goddess picture - somehow, tears use to roll down my eyes and I felt light.( That period of melancholy what made me to chant LS. This gave me lot of peace but always temporary. I donot go and venture into different religion - not even out of curiosity -for me My LORD was enough i felt - WE hinud's believe in guru diksha - i met our guru whom we call ACHARAYAL, and asked him to initiate me into LS instead he only blessed and asked me to continue chanting. That day, i poured my heart out to my goddess. I felt she did not accept my genuine prayer - then my parents consolded me saying that GURU WILL COME WHEN YOU ARE READY. I AM NOT AS CONSERVATIVE AS I SOUND. I JUST DONOT WANT TO CONFUSE MYSELF WITH TOO MANY STUFF. ALL RELIGION PREACHES THE SAME. WE TAKE WHAT SUITS US. Felicia, did you receive MY MAIL - I have writtern in detail of my understanding of Inner BHandasaura.. I have not received my own mail . If you have then. what do you think of my understanding of Bhandasaura. Your feedback - is what prompted me to finish it. I was scratching my head for word ''attachment. Please, give your comments.
